- 300ml water
- 200ml coconut milk
- 200ml chicken or seafood stock

- Seafood: Prawns, fish slices, squid, mussels
- Meat: Chicken slices, beef, or pork
- Fish & Meatballs: Fish balls, prawn balls, beef balls
- Tofu & Beancurd: Fried tofu puffs, tofu skin, egg tofu
- Vegetables: Kangkung, enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, okra
- Noodles: Thick bee hoon, instant noodles, or yellow noodles
- Extras: Quail eggs, hard-boiled eggs, laksa leaves, sambal

- Add 300ml of water and chicken/seafood stock. Bring to a boil.
- Pour in 200ml of coconut milk and stir well. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
